This morning Keen needed some diaper free time and Moxie helped entertain her by singing. After the song Moxie said, "I'm a good helping big sister." It was absolutely heart melting. I wonder how long she will like helping...

Bedtime stalling
Moxie knew it was bedtime and decided to put on a show. We caught a short amount of it and are sharing it with you here. Enjoy.

Bike Riding
Moxie got an iBert bike seat from Bibi and Babu (at the suggestion of Kristin and Glenn). We had a fabulous time riding around the neighborhood. She doesn't love her helmet yet but we are working on it.
At first she was just curious about what has happening. Then when she started to move she got a little nervous. Finally, after a few minutes and she got used to the wind in her face, she really started smiling. Now she wants to race the bigger kids on the block.

Piano Playin'
Moxie has been doing more with her music. Now that she can crawl she heads one of two places: the dog water bowl or her piano. She really enjoys music. I'm pretty sure she is crazy talented.

Locomotion!
Here are two videos of Moxie crawling. It's a whole new world folks. She can get anywhere! We have really had to up our game recently. No more hot glue guns, curling irons, or broken glass laying around anymore. The first video is her first time crawling. The second is more recent--she's doing much better. She does an asymmetrical move that she learned from her friend at daycare. It's weird but it gets her around the house and into trouble.
She can now walk with her little cart from ikea. Footage to prove it soon.

Peek A Boo!
Strider has played "Where's Moxie?" which is a modified peek-a-boo game a couple of times over the last month or so. On Friday daycare was closed so there was some major baby/dad hang out time. Strider was working on his computer when he heard Moxie doing something on the floor next to him. He looks down and she is playing PAB to get his attention. He caught it on camera:

Lemons and Pickles
Ok folks. We are showing two videos today. The first for normal fans and the second for the hardcore with just over 5 minutes to spend (waste) watching the Mox. It is really cute but you won't get these 7 minutes back.
We went out to eat at Parkway Deli. We brought the lobster with us, some baby food consisting of rice and sweet potatoes, Alex Jr., and a bunny rattle Bibi brought from baby Jess days.
This second one documents Moxie's first pickle. Grab a drink. You're going to be here for a while.

Carrots and Walkers
Today while Bibi and I were making baby food (sweet potatoes and chicken) Moxie spent her time dragging Main (the straight shot between our dining room table and the windows in the living room). She did this while chewing on a carrot puree ice cube jammed inside a mesh bag. She got it everywhere and also had a super good time.

Moxie's first food!
This morning we gave Moxie her first "solid" food. She had brown rice cereal (1 part ground brown rice, 1 part breast milk, 2 parts water). She used a bowl and spoon the Buller family gave her. Moxie was more interested in the spoon than the food actually. Bibi helped cook it, Babu took video, Strider acted as the high chair, and Moxie was, as always, the main event. She ended up with a nose full of food but it seemed like the whole experience wasn't a total failure. She didn't really *eat* the food but she certainly moved it around in her mouth for a while. We consider it a win.
Here are some photos and a video at the end. Warning: video is 5 minutes.

Dinner, friends, carrots, and really good food
Last night we had dinner with Jacque, Doug, Hannah, Uncle Tony, Bibi, and Babu. It was great. Moxie was a little off her game and only mostly took in the evening from her mama's lap. She did get some good time with folks and was really into a carrot.
The grown ups got to talk about Hannah's good news: she has a bad ass fellowship at NIH and we solved all the problems of the US government. The food was fabulous and the company was wonderful.
AND right now I'm blogging this from bed because the grandparents are on Moxie duty :)

And, as a delightful treat: here's a video of Moxie rocking the carrot. The Mark-Tuckers suggested the carrot as a good option for relieving teething pain. They are brilliant. It also works as a sword or a lightsaber. Watch out pirates and jedi.

100th Post!
Hey Suckas! Can you guys believe you are about to read your 100th post about a stinky baby named Moxie Eleanor Dorsey-Lee? Well you are. Yep. You are doing it right now.
In honor of your obsession with our kid we are going to give you not one but two, yep TWO videos of this little one doing her new favorite thing: talking.
Seriously, you guys are suckers. But we love you and are so thankful we get to share our Moxie adventures with you.

Manic Monday
It is Monday and we are spending an evening hanging out after being separated all day. Moxie and Strider decided to have some super fun play time and here's how it went:
And then, after dancing and playing guitar they wrapped up the night with some air drumming. (please ignore that this video is sideways. If anyone can tell me how to fix it--I'll do it.)

Moxie Bumbo Fish Fun Times
It is a typical Sunday evening here at the Dorsey-Lee house. Strider is installing baby gates, I am figuring out food for the week, and Moxie is working on her motor skills. Of course, Moxie is far more interesting than our chores so we took a break to take pictures and enjoy watching her learn new skills.
You'll see here in this movie clip that she is really trying to grab them. You can see the gears working in her tiny baby brain. Oh, we are so proud.

Convo with a Cutie
Moxie is becoming a talker. More an "ooher" I guess. She makes sounds in response to our voices or when she is trying to get our attention. She also makes sounds at the toys on her play mat and her butterfly mobile. Come to think of it, she makes it all the time. It is all rather indiscreet.

Dad, Mox, and Technology
Well, some people prefer their children play with organic wooden all natural toys. Others ban the television. Well, in our house, we start with the electronics early. Here's a video of Strider and Moxie checking out an app that shows high contrast pictures paired with cheesy music. She enjoyed it but also really liked the sound of a plastic bottle crinkling. Strider's narration is the best.
