Rice Krispy Treats
At my request Bibi and Moxie made rice krispy treats. Oh the amazingness. Moxie really likes helping with cooking. She has this fabulous kitchen stool (gift from cousin Ginger and Claire) and she is learning to be careful around the stove. She likes measuring things, carefully pouring, and is definitely interested in mixing. She is now the proud owner of two aprons (thanks Grandpa and Grandma AND Aunt Roxann) and likes to rock them while cooking.
Bonding
Strider and Keen are bonding. Mostly through taunting each other and cracking jokes that rely mostly on Bob Dylan lyrics.

Bye Bye Bibi
Holy crap. We are on our own again. Bibi got here two days before Keen was born and stayed for her first 14 days of life. She helped keep Moxie on her routine, kept us fed and clothed, and was an amazing help. We got off to a great start. Thanks Bibi. Sorry we gave you an awful-one-red-eye-cold and you almost cut off your finger.
Mark-Tuckers Meet Keen
Yay! The Mark-Tucker Clan came to see us! With Moxie they came to the hospital. But this time we were out of the hospital so quickly they had to see us at home. Moxie was super pumped to see family and Keen slept through most of it (classic Keen behavior frankly). They brought a super fun gift for Mox and a cool book about a gorilla for Keen. Again, though, in typical Keen fashion she just sleeps through readings of the book. Moxie is really into it though. Also: we ran out of dog food and had to buy some from Trader Joe's. This new food did not agree with Pili and she became one of the most successful biological weapons in American history. She spent the entire visit crop dusting our visitors and almost killed them. We appreciate the Mark-Tuckers' ability to persevere.
P.S. Tonight Karen brought over an amazing meal and even sat holding Keen while we eat. She wrapped up dinner by playing a couple of rounds of hide-and-seek with Moxie.
Keen's first bath
We had double first baths this week. Keen lost the last of her umbilical cord so she got a bath and Deuce (a dog toy that looks like Samantha's bull terrier) got one too! We saved the baby bath stuff from the hospital and Moxie got to play along. Both Keen and Deuce escaped super clean.
Keen didn't love the bath--more tolerated it. She kept her hands in fists and had a stink eye expression the whole time.
Moxie took her work very seriously.
Everyone will recognize the Johnson and Johnson baby bath. Mamas will recognize the squeeze bottle.
Post bath nose pick.
"Seriously dad?"
After her bath we noticed that Keen's hair has just a tiny bit of curl to it.
Jacque and Doug Visit
We had some super fun visitors! Moxie got some quality time reading stories and Keen got some super snuggles. Thanks to Jacque and Doug for the visit, food, and goodies!
Dancing Keen
Keen doesn't do much. But if you let auto-awesome take some of the pictures you might notice some pretty sick dance moves. Oh and a weird wink.
Mo Visits the Newest Dorsey-Lee
We had a wonderful visit from our friend Mo this weekend. She was in town for work and squeezed us in between awesomeness. She brought some beautiful flowers and delicious food. She also brought some sweet gifts for Mox and Keen.

Keen Machine
Here are a couple more pictures of the newest addition to this family. Keen is very expressive especially with her legs. They kick and spin and move all over the place.
Bike Helmet Cooking
Babu and Mox did some serious cooking. Like bike helmet cooking. You need helmets for the kind of cooking that was happening here. They made coffee, apple juice, eggs, sandwiches, burgers, all kinds of stuff. All of it while wearing bike helmets.
Magnatiles
Babu came into town on Thursday. You can tell these pictures are from Thursday because Moxie is covered in super fun preschool paint. Anyway, he got to the house and Moxie immediately roped him into play time. They built castles, made glasses and ears, and did some serious surgery removing crabs from Babu's ears--all with Magnatiles!!
Puerto Rico!!
This summer we took a trip. We waited until now to tell you about it. Don't be mad. It will still be interesting.
We went to Vieques, an island off Puerto Rico, for our annual beach vacation. We flew into San Juan and then hopped on a tiny plane for the last 30 minutes. It was really hot and bumpy but super fun.
We met up with some of our favorite people--here's some of the cousins.
We also ate some pretty fabulous food. Unfortunately the flash only lit up our family but we promise: almost everyone else was at the table too. This was just before Moxie ran into the street and almost killed herself--giving her mother a heart attack in the process.
Mox got a lot of cousin time--
Strider lost a battle with a hammock.
We were really excited to be there. Well 2/3 of us.
This is our sweet pad. It was such a wonderful set up: three apartments with a common area with pool and beach. Who doesn't want to live in a yellow house for a while?
Mox and Babu got into all kinds of trouble.
Serious pool time was had by all.
The Tucker Siblings.
It wouldn't be a beach trip without a butt crack or two.
Happy family pictures.
The evenings were as wonderful as the days--though honestly Moxie and mom were in bed by 9.
OH! And the island is COVERED in wild horses.
We had a wonderful time.
